RN NICU/Pediatrics/PICU Clinical Practice Specialist
Position Summary:
In a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, The Clinical Practice Specialist contributes professional and clinical nursing expertise to ensure the delivery of high quality nursing care to specific patient populations within the Valley Health System. The role of the Clinical Practice Specialist advances the profession of nursing and encompasses: Expert clinical practice Expert guidance and coaching of patients and families and other healthcare providers Consultation/Collaboration Research and Evidence Based Practice (EBP) Leadership (clinical, professional, and systems) The Clinical Practice Specialist Works with staff to influence, guide, direct and develop clinical and professional nursing skills. The role requires the setting of measurable goals and objectives within a framework of current evidence-based practice to: Assist in development of optimal treatment plans Facilitate optimal outcomes for patients and their families Ensure overall continuity of care across the health system
Qualifications & Education
Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in New Jersey. Baccalaureate degree in health care or related field; Master of Science in Nursing preferred. Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion which addresses patient/family satisfaction. Experience in adult education principles preferred. Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving. Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing practice experience, primarily in area of specialty. Participation in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations preferred. *National Board Certification requirement. RNs new in the position that meet experience requirements to sit for a Magnet recognized National Board Certification exam, have up to 1 year to obtain such certification. RNs that do not have the experience required to sit for the exam have 1 year from the time they become eligible to sit for the exam to obtain National Board Certification in their specialty.
