Posting Summary | Position will serve as a full-time Academic Acute Care Surgeon at the Assistant/Associate Professor level within the Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care. Primary duties will be to provide care to patients on the trauma, surgical critical care and emergency general surgical services. The faculty member will have responsibility for education of fellows, residents and medical students on those services. Reports directly to the Chief of Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. *Serve as an Acute Care Surgeon within the Division Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (ACS). Academic rank based on CV and experience. *Serve as an Acute Care Surgeon at University Hospital and be responsible for care on the Trauma, SICU and Emergency General Surgery (EGS) services. * Provide Attending responsibilities on emergency general surgical services (majority of clinical effort), trauma service and surgical critical care service. *Provide additional attending coverage for the EGS service at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, as needed. *Assist with AAST/ACGME-approved surgical critical care fellowship. * Educate and teach residents and fellows. * Take Night call 4-5 nights/month. * Required to develop an ACS research mission and agenda. * Expected to attend trauma conferences and will be mentored by the senior members within the division. * Expected to be an active contributor to the growth of the division, modernize the practice protocols, and actively participate in the administrative and managerial duties of the practice as well as perform other duties as assigned by your Department Chair or Division Chief. |
