Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Rutgers School of Public Health seek applications for tenure track Assistant to Associate Professor-level positions. The successful candidate will be a critical part of multidisciplinary team science for the innovative basic science, translational, clinical and population research at Rutgers Cancer Institute. He/She will provide state-of-the-art statistical expertise on all stages of a research project including grant application, study design, data analysis and manuscript publication for all Rutgers Cancer Institute research programs.

The academic appointment will be in the Rutgers School of Public Health with a resident faculty appointment at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Faculty at the Rutgers School of Public Health will have the opportunity to engage in exciting teaching and mentorship activities for junior faculty and graduate students. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
PhD in biostatistics, statistics, or a closely related field is required. Candidate should have a record of publications in collaborative research and biostatistical methodology. A record of peer reviewed grants is required for a candidate for the rank of Associate Professor. Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Experience in developing methods in emerging areas of statistics directly relevant to cancer research, including innovative clinical trial designs, precision genomics and analysis of massive EHR data is preferred.

As New Jersey's only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, in partnership with RWJBarnabas Health, is a leader in cancer research, treatment, prevention, and education. Rutgers Cancer Institute offers world-class cancer care, providing patients with the most advanced treatment options through an integrated cancer care network, including clinical trials, immunotherapy, precision medicine, complex surgical procedures, and sophisticated radiation therapy techniques. Rutgers Cancer Institute is home to nearly 250 internationally recognized physicians and researchers. The long-standing relationship with their NCI Research Consortium Partner Princeton University was recently leveraged to establish the Ludwig Cancer Research Princeton Branch with several faculty as founding members and leaders of the Branch. Their work on cancer metabolism, not only through the new Ludwig Branch but also through the Duncan and Nancy MacMillan Cancer Immunology and Metabolism Center of Excellence at Rutgers Cancer Institute, will accelerate and translate laboratory discoveries into clinical treatments through more effective and efficiently designed clinical trials.
