Regenerative Engineering Laboratory in Columbia University Irving Medical Center invites candidates to apply for open positions for postdoctoral research scientists or associate research scientists in a government-funded, interdisciplinary, collaborative translational research project for bioprinting cartilage and joint tissues.

The Regenerative Engineering Laboratory, directed by Dr. Chang H. Lee, is a part of the Center for Dental and Craniofacial Research (CDCR) in the College of Dental Medicine. CDCR contains over 4000 square feet of space, including state-of-the-art research facilities, and serves as an inter-campus hub for interdisciplinary collaboration. The Lee Lab has a long-lasting, active collaboration with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Biomedical Engineering. The candidate will have opportunities to participate in varied large-scale collaborative projects to regenerate musculoskeletal and craniofacial tissues.

Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields

The ideal candidates will have experience with bioprinting, 3D printing, cell printing, organ-on-chip, and tissue engineering. Strong candidates with other related fields are also encouraged to apply. Candidate's expertise should be documented in peer-reviewed research articles. The candidate should have excellent communication skills in English and the ability to interact effectively with other postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organization and time management skills, initiative and ability to plan, carry out, and troubleshoot complex studies with minimal supervision are required. Attention to details and ability to work on multiple projects are also expected. The candidate is expected to have a minimum of 3-4 years of relevant research experience and a good publication record.
