Overview

Department 431's R&D lab is looking for experienced engineers looking to propel their careers in a multi-disciplinary hands-on environment. D431 test engineers take ownership of the full lifecycle of diverse test projects which offer practical professional development. Project opportunities include shock and vibration qualification testing; troubleshooting and repair of shipboard components; and development and testing of prototypes, system mockups, component test stands; and calibration of liquid flow meters.

Additionally, a number of shipboard components are operationally tested prior to installation. Tests frequently involve high pressure air and water, hydraulics, and electricity. • Independently manage large-scale or complex test projects and provide mentorship to less experienced engineers.
  • Position may require occasional travel and work in outside environments and submarines, as the organization supports US submarine-related sites world-wide.
