The Junior Systems Administrator is a member of the System Administration Infrastructure team within the Information Technology (IT) unit, at our data center location in Lake Success, NY. The Jr. Systems Administrator is charged primarily with supporting systems-related accounts management, resolving technical and maintenance requests, and assisting with day-to-day administration of network and systems resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor, maintain, and support Microsoft Active Directory, including creating accounts for new staff, interns, temporary staff, volunteers, etc
  • Regularly update the Active Directory system by disabling inactive accounts, adjusting existing accounts based on staffing changes, and updating new hires
  • Ensure up-to-date access to systems, applications, software, and shared drives for Legal Aid staff
  • Create new accounts related to eFax, Google, Microsoft Office, and other systems-related accounts
  • Provide technical support or training for applications and systems to colleagues across Legal Aid
  • Serve as a point of contact for support and maintenance of relevant systems
  • Provide Remote Desktop support for Legal Aid Society users when necessary
  • Coordinate with IT Infrastructure teams and vendors to escalate and troubleshoot network and systems related issues
  • Respond to and resolve tech support requests from Legal Aid Staff and through external vendors, escalating issues when necessary
  • Interact with employees and all levels of management on network and systems related projects and inquiries
  • Document, review and modify network policies and procedures to support training and to ensure processes are followed with fidelity
  • Interact with and address inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, providing accurate and timely information while ensuring a high level of customer service
  • Complete special projects and ad hoc assignments, as requested

Manhattan - Legal Aid Society Headquarters
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Processing, or related field
  • 2+ years of related experience with network architecture or engineering experience
  • 2+ years of experience supporting Active Directory
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Windows Server and MS Office support and troubleshooting (Ver 2012, 2019 or 2022)
  • Strong working experience on M365 platform desirable

SALARY TRANSPARENCY

The posting reflects the range of potential salaries for the role. The specific salary offers will be dependent on candidate qualifications, including collectively bargained salary steps for unionized roles.

Salary Range/ Salary: $72,000-$77,900
