Overview

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at New York Institute of Technology's College of Engineering and Computing Sciences (CoECS) invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with expertise in Bioengineering to start in September 2024 located at the New York City campus.

The CoECS offers eight undergraduate and nine graduate degree programs, including BS and MS in Bioengineering and Ph.D. in Engineering with concentration in Bioengineering, ECE, and Mechanical Engineering. The CoECS's engineering and computer science programs are ranked highly nationally, and its flagship programs are accredited by ABET.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include carrying out research, teaching, and service. For research the faculty member is expected to conduct original research, publish findings in academic journals, and support their research agenda through external funding. For teaching the faculty member is expected to develop and deliver course materials to both graduate and undergraduate students. For service the faculty member is expected to contribute to the academic community through service activities such as advising students, serving on committees, and participating in departmental, college, or university governance.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering, ECE, or a related area, excellent communication skills, and a solid publication record.

Commitment to teaching and research at the undergraduate and graduate levels is required. Research areas of interest include but are not limited to Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, Prosthetics and functional Organ Bioprinting, Medical Imaging and Image Processing, Nanomedicine and Drug delivery, Neural Engineering, Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence for healthcare applications, Bioinformatics, and Biomedical Electronics and Medical Devices. Other areas of research will be considered commensurate with the expertise of applicants.

Candidates must demonstrate an innovative research record and/or industrial experience, exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, and potential for securing sponsored research funding.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.

Minimum Salary
USD $75,500.00/Yr.
Maximum Salary
USD $110,000.00/Yr.
