Position Description

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), is seeking a Grants Administrator and Coordinator with 1-3 years of grant-related experience to join the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). The office actively promotes the research and education mission of CSHL by facilitating and managing sponsored research funding in collaboration with CSHL Investigators, the Director of Research, and other CSHL departments.

Position Responsibilities

The Grants Administrator will: provide consultation to Principal Investigators and CSHL administrators regarding their research awards, budgets, progress reports, and expenses; oversee grant set-up in CSHL's accounting system including budgeting, personnel distribution, indirect cost links, and delegations of authority; ensure allocation of personnel for new awards in consultation with faculty; prepare Progress Reports, Prior Approval requests, Other Support and Just-in-Time documentation; coordinate grant transfers, train new scientific administrators; and support the OSP Executive Director in ensuring that CSHL grants management award processes, practices and compliance requirements are appropriately followed and enhanced as needed. Administrative duties are to be assigned as well.

Position Requirements

1-3 years of relevant experience in a sponsored research/grants management environment. A Bachelor's degree in either business, finance, accounting or biology is required; an advanced degree is a plus. Excellent organizational, analytical, collaborative and consultative skills are required. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are essential. Experience designing, integrating and managing new business management software a plus.

The salary range or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
