Job Description

The Loan Doc & Proc Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Individual must be accountable, ethical, results oriented, trustworthy and credible.

This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required

  • Develops and exercises business plans, policies and procedures, and demonstrates an ability to lead projects, offer innovative solutions and cost saving opportunities.
  • Stays abreast of developments within the loan processing function and considers the impact to the business.
  • Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of complex deliverables often related, but not limited to loan documentation processes
  • Accountable for integrity of process, operations and associated results
  • Responsible for detailed analysis of loan related issues where the best course of action is not evident from the information available, but actions must be recommended/ taken
  • Supports a wide range of internal clients (product, sales, client delivery, and technology) and external corporate clients
  • This includes but not limited to assessing service quality and identifying areas for process improvement, service or technology enhancements
  • Requires advanced analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material from multiple projects, thereby defining problems and developing solutions
  • Conducts discovery and due diligence activities meet project needs
  • Builds effective relationships with colleagues, management, internal/external clients and stakeholders, as well as ability to influence them where necessary
  • Creates, develops and maintains effective relationships with colleagues, management, internal/external clients and stakeholders, and seeks to understand their needs and provides solutions
  • Persuades/influences/ negotiates with others through collaborative communication skills
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency


Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience
  • Experience with Loan systems and implementations - especially Loan IQ
  • Business analysis and/and project management experience required
  • Knowledge of Business Processes, Systems and Tools used in the Loan Process required
  • Demonstrate understanding of Loan Processes, Procedures, Products and Services
  • Excellent communication and writing skills necessary; ability to present ideas and findings in MS Powerpoint and other forms is a must
  • Adequate ability to identify, mitigate, manage, resolve, and escalate risks and issues
  • Awareness of risk types, policies and control measures and processes
  • Comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and adhering to Policies


Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, or Master's degree preferred

The Loans Operations teams support all lending activity for Corporate and Commercial clients of the bank across North America, Latin America, EMEA and Asia. The Loan IQ Ops Readiness EMEA lead will be responsible for understanding and supporting the transformation efforts across Loan Operations driven by the implementation of a new commercial banking lending system - Loan IQ.

This role will require thorough understanding of strategic direction of the lending business as the organization transitions from the historical Flexcube processing environment to the Loan IQ platform. Specifically, the position requires the ability to understand how that transition relates to the Operations team's ability to support business strategy and growth through a system transition, while designing and building new operational, risk and control processes.

The LIQ Ops Readiness Project Lead responsible for the design and execution of numerous operations implementation efforts: integration with front office systems, buildout of loan trading programs, new process and procedures across all operational requirements, and integration with tech teams as new functions are built and tested. They will have to develop strong working partnerships across operations functional areas, with business leads, and with numerous technology teams to effectively manage and support the Loans Operations transformation.

Excellent influencing and communication skills required in order to negotiate internally across the business and with technology partners, often at a senior level.
