Posting Summary

We are seeking to hire an outstanding PhD graduate in the area of mesenchymal stromal cell transduction and cell characterization for novel central nervous system injury treatment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research studies in the general area of treatment of CNS injury with novel cell and molecular constructs. The candidate will review the existing relevant scientific literature, update the project specific aims, and if necessary, identify novel approaches to improve CNS healing. He/she will plan, design, and perform laboratory experiments, analyze and present the data to various (although primarily scientific) audiences, and write scientific reports suitable for peer-review and publication in scientific journals. The candidate will closely collaborate with other laboratory staff, participate in the general maintenance of the laboratory, and contribute to maintaining a safe laboratory environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Applicants must have a PhD in biomedical science or engineering (or a closely related discipline), and an excellent record of scholarship as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and scientific presentations in national and international conferences. The candidate must also have expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology, as well characterization of macrophage and neural cellular responses to inflammatory stimuli. Also required are hands-on experience with cell culture, cellular imaging, high throughput cell characterization assays and laboratory research animals.
