Statement

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. (List Essential Duty Responsibility Statements.)

1.Provide leadership in a multidisciplinary Oncologic Program that includes: Oncologic Surgery

2. Ensure that days, evenings, and weekends are adequately covered for the RHG Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery on-call service at RWJBarnabas RWJUH.

3. Foster a responsive and quality RHG/RWJUH Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery inpatient consult service for RWJBarnabas Health.

4. RWJMS/RHG Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery clinical program oversight and management includes; review, input and feedback of faculty and staff work schedules to ensure the maximum productivity, feasibility and fairness, based on CFTE's and other commitments of time and effort for all missions are taken into account.

5. Participate in a Oncologic Surgery program.

6. Fiscal oversight and management of the division's business plans, and assets to assure solvency and promote growth of financial reserves and contribution margin to the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.

7.Faculty academic management and direct supervision to establish goals, metrics for success, and accountability in areas of research, education, patient care, service and scholarship.

8.Work effectively with the Chairman and the Chairman's administrative staff to on-board and recruit quality faculty and staff providing support for the Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery faculty and staff.

9.Work collaboratively with the Department Chairman and the Chairman's Office administrative staff to ensure goals for faculty productivity in the division are congruent with those of the Chairman's directives, such as increasing patient access to care, reducing missing charges and unsigned charts and reducing bumping in the ambulatory practice.

10.Work effectively with the Chairman and the Chairman's administrative staff supporting the Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery service to direct increased faculty productivity, quality care, faculty retention, and recruitment of qualified faculty that will enhance the division's reputation of our principal affiliate hospital RWJBarnabas and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey.

11.Help develop the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency program and establish an Oncologic Surgery fellowship program.

12.Enhance the division's national reputation in research and scholarship, as measured by its portfolio of high impact publications and research funding.

13.All other duties as assigned by the Chairman of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery

14.Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

15.Performs other related duties as assigned.
