Posting Summary | Under the direction of the principal investigator, the candidate will lead and execute research projects related to the pathogenesis of tuberculosis. The focus of the research performed by the candidate will be studying the role of metabolic pathways of immune cells in the regulation of immune response during Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, and characterizing effects of therapeutic interventions on disease control. The candidate will prepare manuscripts for publication, take care of the day to day operations of the laboratory, train students and postdoc fellows, and submit research proposals and final reports for funding agencies. The candidate will also coordinate activities of collaborative research projects and present research results to internal and external seminars and conferences. Additionally, the candidate will write standard operating procedures and review protocols to be used in the biosafety level 3 laboratories. |

Minimum Education and Experience | Applicant must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, at least 5 years of post-doctoral experience in the areas of TB immunology, molecular immunology and virology. Direct Experience in molecular biology and immunology techniques, Essential requirements are excellent communication skills and demonstrated success in writing of scientific communications and grant proposals. |
