Building Based Substitute Paraprofessional, Mon-Fri - $18.00 hourly

ESS has partnered with the Bethany Community School to placed passionate paraprofessionals into substitute coverage for the 2023/2024 School Year!

Paraprofessionals work under the direction of the classroom teacher to provide extra support to students with special needs, promoting maximum academic and personal growth.

Bethany currently has a need for both Per Diem Paraprofessionals to pick up on an as needed basis to cover for staff absences, as well as a Monday through Friday Building Based Paraprofessional. As a Building Based Paraprofessional, you report to the school Monday through Friday and are assigned each day by the Administration. This is a wonderful opportunity to have a consistent schedule and become part of an amazing school community!

Responsibilities Paraprofessional

• Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students

• Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class
• Attend to student's physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs
• Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• CT/FBI Criminal History Clearance
• Department of Children and Families Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Record Clearance
• Education Employment Verification - Act 16-67
