Position Summary:
The primary purpose of the Research Assistant
is to help perform content analysis of Company Environmental, Social, and
Governance (ESG) Reports and Annual (10-K) Reports. Content analysis will
include natural language processing, machine learning, and data post processing
with the goal of creating firm-year specific data measures of each E, S, and G
intensity for companies. These analyses are to be performed using a variety of
technology based resources and includes but is not limited to: Python, NLTK,
Stata, Tableau, and Excel.
Essential Functions:
- Find relevant algorithms and packages for content analysis then preparing and running code to create quantitative and qualitative measures of ESG intensity.
- Meet with faculty weekly to discuss progress on content analyses.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems or other related fields
- Proficient in Python, NLTK, Excel
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience
prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the
satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and
experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
