Essential Functions:

  • Maintain employer contacts in the Handshake database for the purpose of promoting and managing the Federal Work Study Experiment (FWSE). Manage employer requests and add new employer contacts as needed.
  • Manage the intake of new FWSE employers, explaining the program to ensure they understand the process for hiring FWS students, along with their responsibilities and the expectations of the program.
  • Conduct information sessions to attract new FWSE employers.
  • Create and update marketing materials to promote FWSE, primarily emails, presentations, and website content.
  • Coordinate with fellow CDS staff members and Financial Aid to process students hired into FWSE, ensuring that they complete the necessary paperwork on campus and that they earn only up to the allotted FWS award amount.
  • Assist in promoting opportunities and events to students, particularly from employers participating in the FWSE program.
  • Post and approve employer job postings in the Handshake platform, particularly employers participating in or eligible for the FWSE program.
  • Maintain regular communication with employers of FWSE students to ensure that students are meeting expectations and to identify further partnership opportunities

Prerequisite Qualifications:

  • Candidate must display strong organizational skills, proficiency in verbal and written communication, and strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Knowledge of Career Services Management platform Handshake is a plus.
  • At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
