What success looks like in this role:

* Provides Smart Hands support in the physical data center environment, installs and deinstalls network, server and storage devices. Completes designs and installation specifications. Supports overall Data Center capacity design, planning and tracking. * Supports Power Circuits and Cooling to maximize efficiency, interface with data center facilities to coordinate maintenance events.* Supports System Installation and Decommission (Install Practice sends out all required service requests according to standard Six Sigma process) and break/fix processes. * Supports asset tracking, configuration management, physical equipment locations and tracking all connections.

Monitors and operates datacenter equipment according to plan and/or SLA. * Takes part in disaster recovery projects; knowledge in computer network. * Identifies client order information, coordinates installation, timing and owning resources, Inventories shipments, identifies and store all software and licenses. * Prepares documentation of all installations, floor plans, rack or cabinet diagrams, management of all existing documentation and planning for new installations. * Prepares for asset disposal by performing manual labor to move. * Maintains forms, logs and checklists, which are used to compile balancing information, statistical totals, setup instructions and checklists. * Completes tickets to meet or exceed the SLA requirements. Performs service request and change request processing. * Operates as a backup for miscellaneous break-fix support/configuration for servers and other devices. * Provides support for hardware maintenance, break-fix issues, and overall consulting for various operational issues. * Provides technical support. * Receives shipments for all inbound equipment for SLC Data Center. * Supports Data Center Security and Audits in ISO Certification Compliance, SAS70, SOX, etc. * Supports change and request management for Data Center Facility changes and maintenance. * Supports Data Cabling; Network, SAN, KVM or remote out of band management systems, including managing cabling contractors. * Supports data center administration and control services including physical security and infrastructure set-up. * Supports Installation of equipment on the Data Center floor, requesting and oversight of power, network, SAN and KVM connections. * Supports Media Services Management with a matrix relationship with Storage Group.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

* Requires a HS degree or equivalent and 2 years of experience in IT, technical support and Data Center Operations including Rack design and server provisioning * Low voltage network cabling including cable management (copper cable termination / understanding of fiber optic cabling EIA TIA 942) * Facilities planning - space, power and cooling * A+ and N+ Certifications, required * MCP in Windows , required * MCSA/MCSE preferred. ITIL certification.
