Overview

Management role that directs and controls the technology delivery activities across of one or more broad functional areas, divisions, or product groups through technology and implementations resources across Modern Banking and ancillaries. High Level strategic, customer and technical capabilities including client and operation roadmap and issue resolution. They work directly with the clients in collaboration with the implementation team to ensure client value is delivered. Their attention to detail and deep expertise in their area allow them to see inherent risks or improvement opportunities that others may not. Understand how to deliver value to clients and use that commercial competency to apply methods or certifications appropriately. They work with product, engineering, and implementation team to ensure appropriate application of delivery and operational excellence methods, processes, and tools. Assume accountability for delivery of one or more client projects and programs. Mobilize the delivery team, identify the appropriate people resources, and assign these individuals to projects. Need for person with strong Agile delivery management and technology background in this role. The resource will bring technology ideas to plan, deliver and execute of one or more client projects and programs for MBP and its ancillaries. Work to ensure appropriate resources are mobilized and programs/projects/portfolios meet operational, contractual, and economic commitments. Must have strong Agile delivery management experience and be proficient in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Assume accountability for delivery of one or more projects and programs at a client. Mobilize the delivery team, identify the appropriate people resources, and assign these individuals to projects.

Job Summary

Serve as technology delivery lead on large scale Modern Banking client implementation projects and programs. Works across the organization to ensure delivery and drives prioritization of enhancements and defect resolution through the SDLC. Functions as a liaison between engineering and implementations to ensure timely delivery of capabilities and a successful client implementation.

General Duties & Responsibilities

Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and relationships with Product, QA, Implementation, Engineering and Enterprise Architecture

Removes obstacles and coordinating resources to continually increase team throughput, predictability, and quality

Working with shared services teams to remove impediments and obstacles for improvement of product delivery and cycle time

Setting of product team success measures to deliver the right value to our clients

Contribution and maintenance of a product technology roadmap and backlog and the application of architectural standards in the team's deliverables

Develop and execute on-going improvements for processes related to the team (e.g. incident management escalations)

Deep understanding of the product team's systems, processes, priorities, and technologies while representing these aspects to all levels of IS leadership

Guide teams to do their work in a way that minimizes key-person dependencies and knowledge silos

Representation to ensure firm and division processes are followed and risk is reduced by the product team (e.g. compliance change management, information security, etc.)

Ability to hold teams accountable for setting and achieving Service Level Objectives

In the people leadership portion of this role, this leader will be responsible for:

Coaching and mentoring of each team member through observation and timely feedback

Identification of key team positions and develop ready-now successors

Develop and execute on-going improvements for processes related to the team (e.g. resource management and support processes).

Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across teams, departments, vendors, and other divisions

Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors while aligning to the firm's objectives

As a Delivery Manager you will manage one or more client projects, driving execution to deliver a specific product or application or enhancements

Be mindful of standards & best practices within the Development, Business Analyst and Quality Assurance Analyst practice(s) and ensure that they are being leveraged within the Project Technology team.

Oversee dependencies for complex projects spanning multiple business units.

Communicate consistently and effectively with internal business partners and project managers to understand appropriate project needs and requirements.

Identify risk areas and provide alternate strategies to address concerns.

You will be adept at delivering complex projects, breaking down barriers for your team and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen.

Defines project needs and feeding these into the PMO/portfolio process will enable resource to be appropriately allocated.

Coordinates across Team Leads to ensure stories are created with the right technical functionality

Create executive status reporting and escalate impediments, manage risk, help assure value delivery, and help drive continuous improvement

Act as an advocate of technical direction & designated best practices at a project execution level

Deliver projects and products using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently - 35%

Work with the PMO and Business/Product team to ensure we stay aligned to the Project roadmap for any given product/application.

Work with the BAs and review that the project translate into epics, features, and user stories with acceptance criteria

Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritizing the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team

Ensure resources have a full understanding of work effort, timelines, and expectations.

Matrix-managing a multidisciplinary team from Delivery perspective.

Work closely with the team members on delivery issues/concerns and handle them appropriately

Stay closer to the project and team on their day to day activities & deliverables

Ensure that the team & delivery issues/concerns are handled pro-actively

Keeping the project/enhancement pipeline ready for the team to handle changes and delays

Skills-Requirements

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information systems is preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience directly related to Information Systems technology with at least 5 year in a leadership role (mentoring associates, lead analyst, project leaders, etc.).

Financial Services experience required.

Direct experience in deploying and managing capabilities in the banking product ecosystem.

Understanding of Product Teams and Agile methodology and practices.

Good communication and presentation skills to be able to interact with business stakeholders.
