Responsibilities

TRC is a global consulting firm providing environmentally advanced and technology-powered solutions for the oil and gas, power and infrastructure industry. Backed by 50 years of design know-how, we combine science and applied technology with sound business strategy to solve complex transportation infrastructure challenges for today and tomorrow. Our assignments include small and medium-sized bridges, culverts, railroad grade separations, viaducts, and major water crossings in both rural and urban environments.

TRC is seeking New Jersey DCA Licensed Special Inspectors, qualified to perform construction inspection and material testing services for any of the following disciplines: Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Structural Steel Bolting, Structural Steel Welding, Spray Fireproofing and Exterior Insulation Finish System.


Qualifications

  • Capable of moving to various locations within the project.
  • Must have dexterity to descend/climb ladders or steps and must be able to bend and stoop to take measurements and make observations.
  • Must be able to lift nuclear gauges, samples of aggregate (stones), and concrete cylinders to submit for testing.
  • Must be able to lift carry and use both supplies and equipment that can weight up to 50+ pounds.
  • Requires the ability to stand for an extended period, specifically the majority of the day, if not the entire day. The normal work shift is eight (8) hours and overtime is a regular part of the job.
  • Must be able to be at the construction site to observe concrete pours or other applications when those events are scheduled. This may mean the person's workday could start earlier or end later than the company's normal hours of operation.
  • Must be able to read and interpret contract drawings, specifications, and written instructions, and be able to record data and summarize information.
  • Must be capable of performing mathematical calculations for determining contractor pay quantities if required.
  • Must be able to communicate with others verbally and be able to receive and carry out verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to get along with other employees, client, and / or other construction personnel on the job site.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are a required. The Commercial Inspector is expected to be able to be at the construction site to observe concrete pours or other applications when those events are scheduled. This may mean the person's workday could start earlier or end later than the company's normal hours of operation.
