ACI Licensed Special Inspectors - full-time and part-time openings available!

TRC has openings for full-time and part-time experienced and licensed ICC Licensed Special Inspectors to join our growing Construction Engineering Inspection division all throughout Southern New Jersey and in Philadelphia, PA. Candidates must be qualified and licensed to perform construction inspection and material testing services for any of the following disciplines: (job 11273)

  • Reinforced Concrete
  • Structural Masonry
  • Structural Steel Welding
  • Structural Steel Bolting
  • Spray Fireproofing
  • Exterior Insulation Finish System

The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of success in ICC Special Inspection along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • The ICC Special Inspector is expected to be able to be at the construction site to observe concrete pours or other applications when those events are scheduled. This may mean the person's workday could start earlier or end later than the company's normal hours of operation.
  • Read and understand construction plans - specifications.
  • Sample concrete in accordance with ACI standards and NJ or PA code.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate field inspection reports.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be a certified ACI Licensed Inspector.
  • Must be able to be at the construction site to observe concrete pours or other applications when those events are scheduled. This may mean the person's workday could start earlier or end later than the company's normal hours of operation.
  • Must be able to read and interpret contract drawings, specifications, and written instructions, and be able to record data and summarize information.
  • Must be capable of performing mathematical calculations for determining contractor pay quantities if required.
  • Must be able to communicate with others verbally and be able to receive and carry out verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to get along with other employees, client, and / or other construction personnel on the job site.
  • Must be able to lift nuclear gauges, samples of aggregate (stones), and concrete cylinders to submit for testing.
  • Must be able to lift carry and use both supplies and equipment that can weight up to 50+ pounds.
  • Requires the ability to stand for an extended period, specifically the majority of the day, if not the entire day. The normal work shift is eight (8) hours and overtime is a regular part of the job.

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $56,000 - $224,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
