Legal & General Retirement America, or LGRA, is the Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) division of Legal & General America. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, we have successfully brought Legal & General's global asset management strength, longevity expertise and track record of effective execution to the US.

We are proud to be a part of our parent company, Legal & General Group Plc. Established in 1836 and is one of the world’s leading financial services companies. They've been in the PRT market for over 35 years and have written over 3,500 transactions globally, amassing a global annuity portfolio of $117 billion and servicing over one million annuitants annually.
 

What is Pension Risk Transfer

Pension Risk Transfer is a transaction that allows a defined benefit plan sponsor to mitigate risk and improve benefit security for plan members by transferring all or a portion of the plan to an insurance company. PRT is especially beneficial in helping plan sponsors manage market volatility and changing economic conditions. We offer customized solutions to meet the needs of our pension clients. Our capabilities include:

• Pension buyouts and buy-ins.
• Retiree and deferred participants, including full plan terminations and complex plan provisions.
• General account and separate account offerings.
