About Us
Axonic Capital is a New York based investment advisor founded by Clayton DeGiacinto in 2011. The Firm’s primary business is to manage client capital through structured credit strategies. Axonic and its affiliates currently manage over $2.6 billion in assets and employ a staff of 36 people including traders, analysts and administrative personnel.
Structured Credit Strategies
Primarily invest in single credit and structured credit products including: public and private U.S. and non-U.S. mortgage-backed securities and consumer-receivable-backed securities including asset-backed securities (“ABS”), commercial mortgage securities (“CMBS”), collateralized debt obligations (“CDO”), collateralized loan obligations (“CLO”), whole loans, whole loan mortgages, high-yield and corporate bonds, and various single-name and index credit default swaps.
Fixed Income Systematic Arbitrage Strategies
Use quantitative modeling to invest in U.S. agency mortgage-backed securities, interest rate swaps, swaptions, fixed-income futures and options, as well as equity and FX variance swaps.
Residential Real Estate Strategies
Invest in distressed real estate assets that produce current income or assets that are currently undervalued and can be repositioned and enhanced through cost-effective repairs and capital improvements. We have acquired single family homes in targeted core markets in Florida. We also seek to invest in mismanaged portfolios of distressed real estate properties, non-performing promissory notes and other debt obligations relating to real estate assets, condominium projects, commercial retail properties or land held for further development. The strategy may include geographies outside of Florida in the event that we believe such geographies present favorable investment opportunities.
Mezzanine Financing Strategies
Originate and/or acquire income-producing loans, debt and preferred equity instruments, participations and pass-through certificates, in each case, directly or indirectly secured or backed by commercial real estate, and to finance or leverage all or a portion of its assets. Targeted assets are primarily mezzanine loans but may also include whole mortgage loans, B Notes and preferred equity, and tranches of various seniority of commercial mortgage-backed securities. We also seek opportunities to finance or leverage all or a portion of these assets.
