Posting Summary | The Rutgers Youth Enjoy Science (RUYES) program seeks to encourage youth from groups that are underrepresented in the biomedical sciences to pursue cancer research and healthcare careers. The specific aims of the program are to: 1) Inspire, motivate and educate high school and undergraduate students through mentored cancer research training, cocurricular support and professional development activities. 2) Connect with middle school students and their families through innovative community outreach activities to enhance awareness and appreciation of science education and research careers. The Student Assistant YP participants will engage in research and program related activities focusing on cancer under the supervision of the Program Director/Research Mentors. They will learn valuable research skills (experimental, and laboratory techniques) as well as professional career development skills under direct supervision of the Principal Investigator/Research Mentor. |
