Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior grants Specialist.

Under general supervision, administers and facilitates of the grant preparation and submission process for the department. Advises and assists department head with grant process and compliance issues related to funding agency regulations and standards; ensures adherence to administrative, fiscal, and accounting policies and procedures related to grant proposals .

Job Responsibilities:

    1. Oversees the preparation of scientific-related grant proposals, to include guidance and assistance in budget preparation and interpretation of funding agency regulations and requirements; reviews proposals for compliance with policies,regulations, procedures, and facilitates documentation requirements.
    2. Provides advice and guidance to researchers and administrators on the application of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures; serves as liaison between the department and funding agencies on various issues pertaining to proposals, awards, and/or budgets.
    3. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
    4. May assist with the publication and dissemination of information on the grant in keeping with guidelines from the granting agency.
    5. May provide advice and guidance to researchers and/or administrators with program planning and priorities in order to meet the requirements of the grant.
    6. Maintains currency of knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures; disseminates and/or presents changes to departments and advises on the implementation and impact of changes on funded operations.
    7. Guides and facilitates the research of funding opportunities for the activities of the department; maintains data on funding sources and a library of agency policies, procedures,. and documentation.
    8. Collaborate with the School of Medicine's Sponsored Programs Administration office as well as with program officers at the NIH (National Institutes of Health) and other funding agencies, and providing updated information on requests for applications from the NIH as well as society and foundational grants. May provide advice and guidance to researchers and/or administrators with program planning and priorities in order to meet the requirements of the grant.
    9. Develops and maintains specialized databases and systems for recording and tracking grant proposals, awards, and related statistical information; creates and distributes standard and special reports, studies, summaries, and analyses, as required. Maintain updated file of materials such as electronic submission forms, bio-sketches, resources, and equipment information.
    10. Analyzes and reviews grant budgets for compliance with policies, funding agency requirements, and appropriate accounting protocol and procedures; advises and assists researchers and administrators in grant budgeting, and/or cost sharing requirements, and the use of associated data management and reporting systems and processes. Guides basic science and clinical investigators through the process of grants preparation, working with grants finance personnel in preparing budgets, just-in-time materials, and subcontracts/consortium materials.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Administration or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive research administration experience in an academic medical center, in government or other significant health-related non-profit; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of policies and procedures to ensure that research practices are in accordance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards. Demonstrated knowledge of grant submission process and post award research administration. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills are essential to interact effectively with diverse internal and external professional groups and sponsors. Candidate must have a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines for grant submissions, and manage several projects simultaneously.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15-$114,660.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
