Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is excited to announce the opening of the position of Director of Medical Education and Research to the Anesthesia group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health (formerly Coney Island Hospital) in South Brooklyn. The Hospital is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals System (NYCHHC). South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor & delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services—from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults—all designed to keep our community healthy and accommodates more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.   

Responsibilities

The Department of Anesthesiology at South Brooklyn Health consists of 12 anesthesiologists who follow an expanded Anesthesia Care Model. We take a leadership role in guiding the perioperative process, closely collaborating with our surgical and nursing teams. Equipped with the latest anesthesia machines and equipment, we are committed to ensuring the safest anesthesia practices. Our Department is built on purpose-driven collaboration and support, fostering a premier surgical center in Brooklyn.

  • ACGME Application: Collaborate on the ACGME application process for the establishment of an anesthesia residency program.
  • Research: Engage in data-based and clinical research, fostering an environment of innovation within the Department of Anesthesiology.
  • Education: Share your knowledge and expertise through lectures for our Department of Anesthesiology staff, while also providing valuable educational support to our Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Surgery residents.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified Anesthesiologist with a strong work ethic, a collaborative spirit, and a dynamic personality.
  • Skill in Ultrasound Guided Regional Anesthesia is a plus
  • New graduates are welcome, with Board Certification within 5 years. 
  • An active NYS License is required
